GCB is short for GraphiCarb. It is a kind of graphitized carbon material with lamellarstructure, which has good retention for planar molecules. The activated carbon resin com-monly used in the laboratory has large adsorption capacity, but the adsorption is a lrrevers-ible process, and the extract is difficult to elute, so it is not suitable for use as sPE adsor-bent.Graphitized carbon overcomes the irreversibility of activated carbon adsorption, whilemaintaining high affinity and adsorption capacity for polar and non-polar oil-based sub-stances.Therefore, it has excellent characteristics such as high purification efficiency, highrecovery rate, and high reproducibility, and is widely used in pesticide residue analysis andsample pretreatment with high pigment content. In addition, graphitized carbon is not aporous material, and the time to reach adsorption equilibrium is short, which can savesample processing time.Plant samples often contain a lot of pigments, such as chlorophyl,Lutein, Carotenoid, etc. These compounds usually have an impact on the pesticide residueanalysis results and analytical instruments, so they need to be removed.Experiments haveshown that graphitized carbon has the best retention of such interfering substances and isan essential adsorbent in pesticide residue analysis.
Application
Sample purification in pesticide residue analysis of vegetables, fruits, tea,and plant products
